Children & Christmas

21 December 2011: The Junior Church (Sunday School) of Mission Hospital Chapel celebrated a Christmas programme. The Sunday school children performed in dramas on the themes of the prophecies of Prophets about the Birth of Jesus, i.e. Isaiah, Moses, Amos, Daniel and Micah, and presented Christmas carols, as well.

Christmas Get-together for Senior Citizens

According to our culture, the elders hold a special place in society. They are highly respected and are always acknowledged for their services. Keeping these values in view, the Diocese of Peshawar organized a special ‘Christmas Get-together for the Senior Citizens’, including the elderly staff of the Diocese, on 19 December 2011.

The Town of Thall

The mountainous and hilly Thall or Thal is a City of Hangu District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. It is administratively subdivided into twoUnion Councils . A major Bazaar or market of this region is located here which is a hub for traders from Kurram agency, Afghanistan and adjoining areas...Now a days, the town of Thall is going through difficult times because of the Terrorism in the region...

           Christmas celebrations in Thall

This year, the Thall Parish organized a special Christmas Programme on 18 December 2011. The Bishop of Peshawar along with other senior priests went to attend this programme. A special Holy Communion service was held in St. Paul’s Church, Thall, and was attended by a large number of people. At this occasion, Bishop Humphrey in his message said, “Jesus came to this world as ‘Prince of Peace’, so we as His followers should work to establish Peace & Harmony in our world”...

Kids Day celebrated at Abbottabad

The Junior Church of the St. Luke’ Church, Abbottabad celebrated Christmas season’s ‘Kids Day’ on 17th December. A team of Pakistan Sunday Schools Ministry (PSSM) engaged the kids in various games and activities. About 500 children from different areas of Abbottabad and its surroundings participated in this Progarmme.

On Dec 16, 2011, the Diocesan Junior church Desk, in collaboration with the Pakistan Sunday School Ministry (PSSM), Gujranwala organized ‘Christmas Kids Games’, at the St. John’s Cathedral lawns, Peshawar.

A reception party for the guests from Denmark

In a reception party our friend from Denmark said they were happy to be in Peshawar, and it has been a delight to see the Diocesan programmes run throughout the province. “I am surprised to see the progress made by the communities of the Earthquake affected villages, -- adopted by the DoP. I am happy and satisfied that people have been taken care of, and that they are leading a normal life, once again”. “It’s a pleasure to remain a partner of the Peshawar Diocese”...
