Diocesan Efforts for the Flood Victims

This summer, the super-floods in Pakistan caused havoc all over the country, and the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province was hit hard. During the floods the Peshawar Diocese rescued the Christian community members, along with the Muslim Community members, residing in the neighbourhoods.
The Rt. Revd. Humphrey S. Peters, along with the various Diocesan teams visited every Christian household in the floods-affected areas. Although the roads and bridges were washed away by the floods, the Diocesan teams, especially the Development & Relief sector somehow managed to reach the unreached. People were rescued and were provided tents, food and non-food items on emergency basis.
The Rescue process is over, but the relief process is still going on. Recently, the Peshawar Diocese has also started working on Re-construction and Rehabilitation programme for the Christian flood affected families, as a large number of houses have been washed-away during the floods, the remaining houses have been badly or partially damaged. Anyhow, to make the houses habitable once again, the Peshawar Diocese has started the process, which will enable the flood victims to rehabilitate their lives, again.
The Rt. Revd. Humphrey S. Peters, the Bishop of Peshawar distributed special Eid packages to the Muslim community members residing in the neighbourhoods of the Christian flood-victims.
